About

Traces of Home IMPACT Conference 12 Exhibition, Bristol

Memory, re-enactment and repair are key concerns in my work and were the focus of my Professional Doctorate in Fine Art, which I completed in 2014. I have exhibited nationally and internationally with solo exhibitions in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Bristol and London.

My practice stems from my training as a painter and printmaker, and has extended to include working with photography, moving image and sculpture. My research is driven by an interest in specific individuals and communities, their changing states and the subsequent impact on personal lives and histories, in particular working-class histories. My work references my interest in historic locations and deindustrialization.

Exhibitions include Form & Oxidation at Glasgow Print Studio, 2026, The Scottish landscape Award, Kirkcudbright, 2025, The Court of Neptune a two-person exhibition at the Pearce Institute, Govan in 2024. Other group exhibitions include the RA Summer Exhibition, London and Whose Gallery is it Anyway at Edinburgh Printmakers. In 2024 I was resident artist at Linburn Walled Garden, a collaborative public art project with Sight Scotland Veterans, The Cyrenians and ARC West Lothian. I have taken part in residencies, at ArToll in Germany, Hospitalfield in Arbroath, Eastbury Manor in London and the Glass Foundry in the Cotswolds.
